Over at Beers with Demos there is a very sad story about how bad life in California is getting in the Central Valley that is definitely worth reading. But what really prompted this post is the oh-so-perfect story from yesterday's Rose Parade.
Seems that the float from the city of Sierra Madre won this year's Governor's Award, one of the Tournament of Roses Parade's most prestigious awards, which is awarded to the float which "best depicts life in California." What makes their depiction of "Life in California" so richly ironic is that the float broke down, right at the main TV area, and had to be towed the rest of the way (see full story).
